1.
Melancholy longing, reckless gaze Dulling sting of halcyon days The best that never was is yet a dream Unbeholden beauty is not what it seems I’m wishing the day, wishing the day away I’m wishing the day away I’m wishing the day, wishing the day away I’m wishing the day away Infinite sigh, from battered breast Elysian splendor, rendered dispossessed Nonsensical wisdom, quizzical whimsy Hollow excuses, forever flimsy The best that never was is yet a dream Unbeholden beauty is not what it seems In the Sea of Tranquility Fear turns to felicity. Beneath restless waves, You’ll find me whiling my days
2.
Bright lights always keeping me awake Closed eyes always leads to big mistakes Till night when you come into my room And bright lights come to carry me away No one needs to hurt now You got what you came for Just leave them alone now I’ll come with you quietly tonight Sunshine or sunny so it seems I’m wide awake and lucid in my dreams I’m upright but you’re towering over me You’re eye height but taller than you seem
3.
Marbury Park 05:01
Shed the mortal coil, Embrace your daydream a while, Bide some idle time Inside the slipstream away. It keeps your hair on end, where up is down, and not is in, The deja blue begins an endless, swirling wind Keeping rhythm with the sacred dance Chemically feeding the never-ending trance Haunted by the ghosts I’d chased Indelible years won’t erase Another enchanted day with you in Marbury Park. Faded pages of the mind Sifting through the grit of time Another enchanted day in Marbury Park.
4.
Ever and anon she treads the silvery trail, luminescent. Gently ebbs along the swirling tide, effervescent. Trip a traipse to Alexandrine shores, pearlescent. Wistful whispers tickle unspoilt ears, delitescent. Dancing between two worlds, belonging to neither. Left alone to rectify, she slips into the aether. Into the aether, Into the aether. Feeble effort strains to meet the mark , acquiescent. Archetypes will course the tattered path, obsolescent.
5.
Lying prone on stony ground in undemanding days, Bathed in ghostly starlight, incipient in grace. What wisdom whispers through cryptic skies? What enlightenment hides from peering eyes? Sing to me a faded nocturne, Fill the night with bittersweet melody. Sing to me of days gone by, As slumber reclaims the depths of night. Lingering remnants of daylight succumb to shadowed fade, The morning glory’s trumpet withers in decay. Like watercolor dripping from the curling page, Blurred intent obscures the painter’s rage.
